Doesn’t anyone find it useful any more? I’m regularly logged into #hasadna on freenode, but it is only ever myself and Alon Levy on there…

There’s always a new something. I’m just wondering if anyone is interested in the IRC, or if it is not relevant these days for hasadna, in which case, I’ guess I’ll stop visiting it :slight_smile:

Maybe we can set days and times, when more people are likely to join, let’s say Monday and Wednesday evening.

The appeal to me is that I’m using IRC for work during the day. I personally wouldn’t be much interested in a regular evening kind of thing.

I think we should revive it. I’m in!

Ok!

It might be good to let people know that we are trying to use it. Part of that is probably giving a reason to do so.

For me, the reasons are:

  • I’m on IRC for other open source stuff
  • I like to be able to help people with quick questions, and also to ask them
  • It is more informal than a forum
  • It is not siloed by project or topic
  • Regular Monday night meetups are hard for me, but small bursts of work/assistance are often easy during the day
