Civic tech in Latin America

What’s up with civic tech in Latin America? Are there specific challenges to this region? What is the potential of civic startups, there and elsewhere?

Matias Kalwill (Buenos Aires, Bikestorming founder) will share a personal view on these questions, as a designer and entrepreneur of civic apps, from Latin America to the world.

Matías Kalwill (Argentina, 1981) is the founder and designer of Bikestorming, a mobile+wearable app to grow urban cycling in cities around the world. Originally from Buenos Aires, he is currently in Tel Aviv with Team Bikestorming (Pablo Chiappetti, Jorge Ovalle, Marcelo Canevari) to take part in the Ecomotion Smart Transportation Accelerator, supported by the Israeli Innovation Institute. Matías was awarded Climate Champion by the British Council, and has spent the last three years diving deep into the challenge of making apps that do well, and do good.
